Learning Disabilities

A learning disability affects the way a person learns new things in any area of life, not just at school.

A learning disability affects the way a person understands information and how they communicate. They may have difficulty:

  • understanding new or complex information
  • learning new skills
  • coping independently

Patients aged 14 years and over, who are registered on the learning disability register, are encouraged to attend an annual health check at the surgery.
This appointment is in two parts- with a member of our nursing team and a follow up with your GP.
