Insect bites and stings

An insect bite is the visual reaction to an insect sting or bite.

The skin can become red, inflamed and can be itchy. This reaction will normally go away within a few hours or days

Ask your pharmacist about over-the-counter treatments that can help, such as painkillers, creams for itching and antihistamines.

Some people suffer from allergic reactions to certain insect bites. Your local pharmacy will be able to advise if you need to see a GP for further care.
