Cystitis / UTI's

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) affect your urinary tract, including your bladder (cystitis), urethra (urethritis) or kidneys (kidney infection). Symptoms can be easily treated, although antibiotics are not always needed.

Symptoms of a UTI include:

  • needing to urinate suddenly or more often than usual
  • pain or a burning sensation when urinating
  • smelly or cloudy urine
  • blood in your urine
  • pain in your lower tummy
  • feeling tired and unwell
  • in older people, changes in behaviour such as severe confusion or agitation
